Influencer Rate Calculator

How this rate is calculated
The calculator starts from a base price per 1,000 followers for the platform (for example about $10 per 1,000 on Instagram, a widely used rule of thumb), then adjusts it:
- Engagement: under 1% lowers the price, 3–6% raises it by 30%, and above 6% by 60%.
- Deliverable: short video counts 1.5×, a story 0.5×, a feed post 1×.
- Range: the result is shown as 70% to 140% of the calculated figure, because rates are negotiated.
This is a starting point, not a market price. Niche, audience location, content quality and demand for your slot can move the real number well outside this range.
What else to factor into your price
- Usage rights: if the brand wants to reuse your content in its own ads, charge extra.
- Exclusivity: blocking you from working with competitors for a period deserves a premium.
- Production effort: a polished edited video costs more than a quick photo.
- Audience value: a small but buying-ready audience in finance or B2B can be worth more than a large entertainment one.
- Bundles: offer a discount for multi-post packages to win repeat work.
Negotiation tips
Quote the upper part of your range first, state exactly what the price includes, and put revisions, timelines and payment terms in writing. Ask for a deposit on larger deals.
Frequently asked questions
Is the $100 per 10,000 followers rule accurate?
It is a popular starting rule of thumb, equal to the $10 per 1,000 figure used here for Instagram. Treat it as a first estimate, not a standard.
Do micro-influencers charge less?
In total, yes. Per follower, though, they often charge more because their engagement and trust tend to be higher.
Should I charge more for Reels or TikToks?
Usually yes. Video takes more effort to make and often performs well, which is why the calculator weights it above a feed post.
