TikTok Video "Not Eligible for For You Feed": Causes and Fixes

When TikTok says a video is not eligible for recommendation, the video can still be seen on your profile but strangers are not being shown it. It is usually about one video, not your whole account.

Quick answer

Check the notice, appeal if you believe it is wrong, and post original, rule-friendly videos for a couple of weeks. Compare For You views across several videos to see whether it is just that video.

What it means

The video is not being recommended on the For You feed. It is not the same as a ban. Followers and people who visit your profile can often still watch it, but it will not get wider distribution.

Common reasons

What to do

  1. Read the notice in your inbox and note which video and which policy it names.
  2. Appeal once from the notice if you believe it is a mistake.
  3. Check your analytics: compare the share of views from the For You feed across your last 10 videos. If only one video is low, it is probably that video.
  4. Test with a fresh original video with a clear hook, no outside watermarks and licensed audio.
  5. Stay consistent for a couple of weeks, and avoid bursts of posting.

Is it a shadowban?

If several videos in a row get almost no For You views and no notice explains it, compare your reach using the shadowban checker. Remember that low views can also come from a weak hook or a topic that did not land.

This guide is general information based on platform help pages and user reports, not an official statement from the platform. Rules and timings change, so check the platform's own notice and Help Center. Never pay anyone who promises to unban an account, and never share passwords, codes or ID with them.

Frequently asked questions

Does it affect my whole account?

Usually only the video named in the notice. Repeated issues can lead to wider limits, so fix the cause.

Should I delete the video?

Not necessarily. If you cannot fix the issue, deleting may be reasonable, but appeal first if you believe it was a mistake.

How long does it last?

It applies to that video. TikTok does not publish a time for lifting it, so move on with new original videos.
