Facebook Account Disabled: How to Appeal and Recover It
When Facebook disables an account you can lose personal photos, your Page and your business login at once. A calm, quick appeal through Facebook itself is the way back.

Follow the on-screen steps to request a review, have an ID ready only if Facebook asks inside facebook.com, appeal once, and never pay a recovery service.
Why Facebook disables accounts
- Fake or impersonating profiles, or accounts that look inauthentic.
- Spam, mass friend requests or copied comments.
- Breaking Community Standards, such as harassment, hate or dangerous content.
- Unusual login activity that suggests the account was hacked.
- Many reports from other users.
- Scam or fake-giveaway activity.
How to request a review
- Try to log in. If the account is disabled, Facebook usually shows a message and a link to request a review.
- Follow the steps. You may be asked for your name, contact details and an explanation.
- If Facebook asks for proof of identity, upload it only on the official Facebook site or app. Block out nothing the form requires, but do not send your ID to anyone by email or chat.
- Keep the confirmation and check your email, including spam, for the decision.
- Appeal once. If you hear nothing for several days, check the status where the form says to.
Pages and business accounts
If a Page or ad account was restricted, check the Support Inbox or Page Quality section for the reason. Pages are tied to personal profiles, so a disabled profile can affect the Pages it manages. Add a backup admin you trust as soon as you can.
If you think it was hacked
Use Facebook's account recovery page to secure the account. Change your email and password, review logged-in devices, and turn on two-factor authentication.
Do not fall for scams
Scammers send messages claiming to be Facebook support or offering to "get your account back" for a fee. Facebook does not ask you to pay to reopen an account. Never give your password or codes to anyone.
After it is restored
- Remove suspicious apps and connected logins.
- Delete posts that may break the rules.
- Post and message at a normal pace.
For a quick read of other notices, see the ban message decoder.
This guide is general information based on platform help pages and user reports, not an official statement from the platform. Rules and timings change, so check the platform's own notice and Help Center. Never pay anyone who promises to unban an account, and never share passwords, codes or ID with them.
